In continuation of the Mein Father explorations, this project traces my journey of becoming a father, my search for a new home, meaning, and identity while moving to a foreign country and coming to terms with my family’s (mine and my wife’s) history of diaspora, migration, dislocation and resilience.

Landscapes of the Back of the Yarrds neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. The Back of the Yards was made famous by Upton Sinclair's book The Jungle and has long been a portal for recent immigrants from many parts of the neighborhood. Until the early 1970''s migrants came to work in the Union Stockyards otherwise known as the 'Hog Butcher to the World.' Today the area is still home to a variety of factories where Lupe has herself worked but the Union Stockyards are long since closed.
