DETECTIVE GUEVARA’S

WITNESSES

In 2017 A Chicago Cop Was Accused of Framing 51 People for Murder. Today the Fight for justice continues for many of the men.

Chicago Police Detective Reynaldo Guevara has been accused of framing at least 51 people for murder. When a group of mothers, aunts and sisters found that no officials — not the state's attorney's office, not the mayor's office — wanted to take up their cause, the women went in search of justice themselves. On April 21, 2017 one of the men, Roberto Almdovar was released. I photographed his story - before and after, along with many of the other men and families whose lives were forever changed by by corrupt detective’s Reynaldo Guevara. While many of the men have been released the Fight for Justice Continues to this day.

While Almodovar and others have been let out since 2017 still others languish in prison and the legacy of corruption and outright criminal misconduct by the Chicago Police Department continues to impact city residents and their families.
