NOOR FOUNDATION

Jon Lowenstein and Columbia University Professor Nina Berman founded the NOOR DOCUMENTARY FOUNDATION US as a way to bring important stories to light for the world and to ensure that the US wing of NOOR Images, based in Amsterdam could thrive and succesfully support artists from many arenas. The experiment proved succesful. Lowenstein was president from 2015 - 2018 and today Columbia Journalism professor Nina Alvarez has taken the reigns and continues to guide the organization.
